The Takoma Medical Office Building, which houses physicians associated with Takoma Regional Hospital, has been sold to Frauenshuh Healthcare Real Estate Solutions in Minnesota.
The physicians will continue to operate in their current location on East Vann Road across from Greeneville Middle School, according to Daniel Wolcott, Takoma's president and CEO.
Wolcott stressed that the sale will not affect daily operations. "Our physicians are leaders in patient safety and healthcare quality," he said. "There will be no changes in the management, physicians or patient care at the Takoma Medical Office Building."
The Takoma Medical Office Building was owned by a group of physicians, community leaders and Takoma Regional Hospital, he said.
"Takoma and each of the other owners held a minority ownership interest in the building," Wolcott said. "Several of the partners had a desire to liquidate their ownership interest. Therefore, the decision was made to sell the building."
The sale was closed Dec. 30, 2009. The purchase price was not announced.
