The National Weather Service in Morristown has issued a winter weather advisory for tonight and most of Wednesday.
The advisory calls for snow showers and windy conditions to develop tonight and continue at least through Wednesday afternoon.
Colder air is expected to flow into the area this evening, and combine with strong winds out of the northwest to produce numerous snow showers, continuing through Wednesday afternoon, the weather service said.
Tonight's low temperature is expected to be 25, and Wednesday's high is only expected to reach 31 degrees.
Accumulations of one to two inches of snow are possible over a wide area of East Tennessee overnight, and an additional inch or two is possible on Wednesday.
Very strong winds are expected on Wednesday.
The weather advisory period begins at 7 p.m. tonight and continues until 4 p.m. Wednesday.
