An Afton pilot escaped serious injury about 2:30 p.m. Sunday
when the home-built airplane he was flying crashed onto Justice Road and burned about a half-mile
off the Kingsport Highway.

Hundreds of people turned out on Saturday at the
Greeneville-Greene County Municipal Airport for the first of what organizers hope will be many Wings
& Wheels on the Greene Fly-in and Cruise-in events.
The annexation of approximately 99 acres on Whirlwind Road
was approved on first reading Tuesday afternoon by the Greeneville
Board of Mayor and Aldermen, despite opposition from a large group of
property-owners.
