Civil Service Examination The Greene County Civil Service Board and the Greene County Sheriff's Department will be conducting a civil service examination on Tuesday July 16, 2019 at the C. Hal Henard Elementary School located at 425 E. Vann Rd, Greeneville, TN 37743. The test, for the position of deputy sheriff-corrections officer, will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, a high school graduate or possess a GED, and have no criminal record. Candidates must also possess a valid Tennessee driver's license, be able to pass a physical and psychological examination and be of good moral character. Rotating shift work is required. Additional requirements may apply. Starting compensation for the position of deputy sheriff-corrections officer is $13.88 per hour. Applications may be obtained at the Greene County Sheriff's Department, 116 East Depot Street Greeneville, TN. 37743, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
