NOTICE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT APPEAL

NOTICE PROPERTY ASSESSMENT APPEAL GREENE COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION Pursuant to Section 67-5-508, Tennessee Code Annotated, the property assessment records of Greene County will be available for public inspection at the Greene County Courthouse Annex during normal business hours. Any person desiring to inspect these records may do so at the appointed time and place. The Greene County Board of Equalization will begin its annual session to examine and equalize the county assessments on JUNE 1, 2023. THE BOARD WILL ACCEPT APPEALS FOR TAX YEAR 2023 ONLY UNTIL THE LAST DAY OF IT’S 2023 REGULAR SESSION WHICH WILL BE JUNE 15, 2023. The Board will meet each weekday from the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the County Courthouse Annex. Any property owner who wishes to make a complaint or appeal to the County Board of Equalization must appear before said Board at this time personally or by personal appearance of an agent for the owner bearing the owner’s written authorization. Failure to appear and appeal an assessment will result in the assessment becoming final without further right of appeal. Property owners should call the office of the Property Assessor beginning MAY 15, 2023 at 798-1738 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:30 pm Monday-Friday to schedule an appointment to appear before the County Board of Equalization. 5.19.23
