CEMETERY NEWS

Mount Pisgah

The meeting of the Mount Pisgah Cemetery Association is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the fellowship hall of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church.

Urgent Providence Cemetery Annual Meeting

The management of Providence Cemetery at the Hawkins/Greene County line is asking for help. It is attempting to update its records. Some reserved plots have only one name, which is no longer known to the managers of the cemetery, and people with reserved plots have been buried in other cemeteries. Because landline telephones have been replaced by cell phones, it is no longer possible for the cemetery managers to contact the people. Anyone who has a plot reserved in the cemetery is urged to attend the annual meeting of the general membership of the Providence Cemetery Association at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Robinette Memorial Church.
