The Andrew Johnson National Historic Site is offering evening tours of the president’s Homestead on Thursday. Rangers will lead visitors through the house on tours that begin every 15 minutes from the home’s yard. The first tour is at 5:30 p.m. The last tour begins at 6:45 p.m. “This is a wonderful opportunity to see the historic home in the cooler evening and be reacquainted with the powerful story of President Andrew Johnson and his family,” an announcement said. Tours cover both floors of the house, including stairs and uneven surfaces. Tours are free. Tickets are not required, the announcement said. For more information, call the Visitor Center at 638-3551.
