Three people were injured about 6:15 p.m. Wednesday when the car they were in slammed into a tree in the 800 block of East McKee Street.
Names of the 2010 Lexus sedan’s four occupants were redacted from the Greeneville Police Department report, and some were believed to have been juveniles.
A female front-seat passenger had to be freed from the car by members of the Greeneville Fire Department and the Greeneville Emergency & Rescue Squad. She suffered suspected major injuries and was taken by Greene County-Greeneville EMS to Johnson City Medical Center after extrication was complete, according to county 911 Dispatch.
The crash happened in the area of 805 E. McKee Street, near the entrance to Ballad Health Laughlin Healthcare Center.
A police crash report said the female driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Greeneville Community Hospital East. She was charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license and cited for having no proof of vehicle insurance and a registration violation.
The car did not have a license tag, the report said.
A male back-seat passenger suffered a non-incapacitating injury and was not taken to a hospital. Another back-seat passenger was not injured, the report said.
