A man suffered a pellet gun wound to an eyelid about 9 p.m. Thursday in an accidental shooting at 335 Wild Rye Lane, sheriff's Deputy Rick Williams said in a report.

Joshua Stapleton, 36, of the Wild Rye Lane address, was treated for the injury at Laughlin Memorial Hospital's emergency department.

The victim told deputies he was sitting on his front porch when a relative, Charles Adam Justis, "was attempting to shoot at a dog but missed and hit (Stapleton) in the right eyelid," the report said.

Another family member drove Stapleton to the hospital for treatment, the report said.
