A man who fled from a sheriff’s deputy Tuesday afternoon after it was determined he had an active violation of probation warrant was taken into custody.
Larry Wayne Hartsock, 31, of 465 Mulberry Road, was also charged with resisting arrest, criminal impersonation, possession of a Schedule VI drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Hartsock was seen walking about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday in the 500 block of Bolton Road and was asked his name, Deputy Walter Doolittle said in a report.
The man responded his name was “Country Boy,” the report said. When Hartsock’s identity was determined, a records check showed the active warrant for violation of probation.
As handcuffs were placed on Hartsock, he ran away and didn’t heed commands to stop. A Taser was used but had no apparent effect, the report said.
When he was taken into custody, a syringe and suspected marijuana were found on Hartsock. He was held without bond pending a first scheduled appearance Wednesday in General Sessions Court.
