A man suffered a minor hand injury when a weapon he was cleaning went off Saturday afternoon, sheriff’s Deputy Frank Cedillo said in a report.
Deputies went to Takoma Regional Hospital and spoke with Nicholas A. Witt, 21, of 35 Ward Park.
Witt said he was cleaning his gun when it jammed. While trying to clear the jam, the weapon discharged, “grazing the palm of his left hand,” the report said.
“No other damage was done to the victim,” the report said.
Witt was treated and released from the hospital.
