A man shot himself in the hand Monday morning while cleaning a gun, sheriff’s Deputy Frank Cedillo said in a report.
Deputies went to the emergency department of Laughlin Memorial Hospital and spoke with 57-year-old Ricky Lee Garber, of 95 Honey Hill Road.
Garber told deputies he was cleaning his 9 millimeter Jennings pistol.
“He went to test fire the weapon and it went off in his hand,” the report said.
The bullet went through Garber’s left hand, the report said.
His condition was not immediately available this morning.
