Amanda “Mandy” Wilhoit, 88, of Erwin Highway, Chuckey, went to be with the Lord Thursday.

She worked at Philips Electronics, the Dunbar Peppermill and ITT North and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons: Kenny Wilhoit, of the home, and Mike (Donna) Wilhoit, of Elizabethton; two granddaughters: Stacy Wilhoit, and Kelli (Chase) Melton, of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren: Trevor Grubbs, Dillon Shelton, Blake Jones, Avery Melton and Levi Melton; sisters: Lora Garvin, of Telford, and Victoria McInturff, of Jonesborough; a brother: Ralph (Carolyn) Cooper, of Johnson City; a sister-in-law: Cora Lee (Cotton) Cooper, of Telford; and a special friend: Sharon Phipps.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Everette Wilhoit; a son: Paul Edward; her parents: Sara Jane and Dave Cooper; siblings: O.B. Cooper, Dillard Cooper, Grady Cooper, Lee Cooper, Joe Cooper, Zella Cloyd and Cardellia Cooper; and her grandparents: Gemima and Pierce Partin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill UMC with the Rev. Mark Laughlin officiating.

Interment will follow the service in Pleasant Hill UMC Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Garvin, Jimmy Painter, Terry Wilhoit, Richard Wilhoit, James Edward Wilhoit and Terry Sensabaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Southerland, Sammy Southerland, Lee Southerland, Conley Fletcher, David Brooks, Keith Painter, Tim McKinney, Carl Duncan and David Martin.
