ROGERSVILLE — Beatrice Fields McLain, 92, passed away Friday at Holston Valley Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Clarice Fields; her husband: Charles McLain; her son: John McLain; and brothers: Ralph, Clifford (Tip), Cleo (Teed), Paul, Alex, and Ira (Tide).
Her passions included gardening and canning, reading (although she never quit tucking a strip of paper in her Kindle before closing the cover!), quilting, caring for her pets, exploring in the woods, planting trees, playing rummy and being a mom.
She is survived by her son: Bill; daughter: Stella Kay; brother: Albert Fields; grandchildren: Jody, Chip and Stacey; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Other special family and friend survivors include Louise McLain, Brittany Davis, Leisa Wells, Michael and Tami Fields, Judy Hensley (thank you for all the cards!), Jennifer White, Andi Crawley and Amy Swecker.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Christian-Sells Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Beech Creek Cemetery with Chip McLain officiating.
