Billy J. Hawk, 87, of Greeneville, passed away Monday after a brief illness at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.

He was a retired dairy farmer, carpenter and was previously employed at Plus Mark.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean conflict.

He was a member of Cedar Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife: Joe Ann Hawk; a daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Gary Shelton; a son and daughter-in-law: Jim and Jean Hawk; grandchildren: Matt and his wife Tamara, and Luke and his wife Jessi; great-grandchildren: Keira, Judah, Dani, Elayne, Harper and Daphne; a stepson and his wife: Dale and Sarah Gregory; stepgrandchildren: Joseph and Janetha Gregory; a sister: Glenna Woolsey; and two sister-in-laws: Frances Hawk and Patsy Stills.

He was preceded in death by his first wife: Nancy Love Hawk; his granddaughter: Amanda Shelton; and his parents: Alfred and Mabel Hawk.

The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Andy Eppard officiating.

The interment will follow at Greenelawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be: Donnie Bell, Ronnie Rader, Joseph Gregory, Cliff Fluharty, Jerry Mitchell and Dickie Harmon.
