Bleeka Gaddis Carper, 88, of Afton, passed away Tuesday at Johnson City Medical Center.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Carper attended Bridges Chapel Church of God for many years and was attending Old Tabernacle Church of God as long as her health permitted.
She was a loving mother and enjoyed cooking and making pies and cakes for all her friends.
She is survived by one daughter: Cathy Beach; a foster grandson: Michael Shelton; one brother-in-law: Kenneth Fillers; one sister-in-law: Helen Gaddis; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends: Marty Barkley and Mary Jackson.
She was a daughter of the late Marion and Ruby Teague Gaddis and was preceded in death by her husband: Glenn Carper; three brothers: Gene, Hobart and Harold Gaddis; and two sisters: Betty Lewis and Shirley Fillers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 4-7 at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Riddle and the Rev. Steven Kimery officiating.
Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Cross Anchor Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10 a.m. at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Southerland, Ben Wallace, Roger Harvey, Jeff Hale, Charlie Southerland, Adam Gaddis and Caleb Southerland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Burgess, Jeff Brown, Tom Jackson, Butch Johnson, Edward Deyton, Connie Gaddis, Bobby Neas, Jerry Burger, Jess Stover and Kenneth Fillers.
