Donald R. Burgner, 81, of Horse Creek, died at his home Tuesday.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Ruth Burgner; a daughter: Dinah Tunnell; son and daughter-in-law: David and Rhonda Burgner; grandchildren: Kendra and Alec Salem, Cory and Alicia Malone and Allyson Burgner; great-grandchildren: Cora Mae Malone and Alia Elizabeth Salem; a sister: JoAnn White, of Boynton Beach, Florida; brothers and sister-in-law: Bill and Melody Burgner, of Clermont, Florida, Richard and Cheri Burgner, of St. Simons Island, Georgia; sister-in-law: Jean Burgner; and many special friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Velva Burgner; a son-in-law: Dwight Tunnell; brothers: Bobby Burgner and David Burgner; a sister: Rita Mercer; and a brother-in-law: Ed White.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 and 5-7 p.m. at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton chapel.

The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Jeffers Afton Chapel with the Rev. Rusty Shanks officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tim McKinney, Kernie Moses, Cory Malone, Alec Salem, Sammy Southerland and Robert Kimery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Zack McKinney, Jimmy Painter, Steve Burgner, Terry Sensabaugh, Louis Rader, Keith Painter, Lee Southerland, Jerry Fox and Marty Hensley.
