Dr. Kevin Hartman, a local dentist for 32 years, passed away Sunday evening at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was 58.

Dr. Hartman was a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, East Tennessee Academy of Dentistry, and Greeneville Moose Lodge No. 692.

He was a longtime member of First Church of God, and in recent years he attended Long Creek Christian Church.

He enjoyed being a weekend farmer in the St. James community and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his loving wife: Lisa; daughter: Lexis Covington; his mother: Carolyn Hartman; his father: Bob Hartman (Carol Hartman); his mother-in-law: Sandra Weller; two sisters: Kim (Brian) Snelson and Terri (Paul) Sharp; a sister-in-law: Susan (Mike) Davis; two stepbrothers: Jerry and Brian Wilhoit; two special nieces: Tori Holland and Brooke Davis, who stayed by his side; several other nieces and nephews; his special dental staff: Susan, Megan, Candice, Amber, Courtney and Luisa; his special deep-sea fishing friends: Dr. J. Randell Crowder and Fred Serral; his Saturday afternoon football-watching friend: Harold T. Weller; and his furry friend: Romeo.

He was preceded in death by his brother: Keith Hartman; one of his best friends and father-in-law: Byron B. Weller; and a special friend: George Giner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Lyle Foreman, Mike Ragon, Mike Davis, Dr. Randell Crowder, Opie Crum, Dr. David Jones, Doug Weller, Terry Gaskins, Dan Gwinn, Diana Holditch and Fred Serral.

At his request there will be no visitation or service.
