EARL WILLIAM DOYLE

Earl William Doyle, 80, of Greeneville, passed away Friday at Greeneville Community Hospital East.

Earl worked various places during his life including, Wolfe Grocery at Rheatown, Magnavox, Tenn Craft, Weavex and Irene’s Flower Shop. He recently retired as owner of Holley Creek Florist.

The family expressed a very special thank you for the wonderful care provided to our father by the nurses, doctors and staff of the ICU department of Greeneville Community Hospital East, formerly Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

Earl was a loving father, grandfather and friend to many in the community. He was always caring, compassionate and loved to make others laugh.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Mae Lou Harrison Doyle and Ed John Doyle; sisters: Lilly Maude “Trixie” Cook and Dorothy Kate McMillian; brothers: Clarence Franklin Doyle, Cleon Doyle and Ed Doyle Jr.; and half-sister: Ruth Bradley.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Tammy and Rick Burgner, of Chuckey; one son and daughter-in-law: Tony and Teresa Doyle, of Greeneville; one special granddaughter: Tabitha Burgner Ellenburg; and three great-grandchildren: Mason Ellenburg, Tambryn Ellenburg and Tayven Davis; stepgrandchildren: Christian Haston, Matt and Brandy Hurley and Xavier, Phillip Fillers and Nevaeh, and Crystal Haston and Gracie. He is also survived by the mother of his children: Winnie Lou Doyle, of Tusculum; a very special friend: Kent Brown, of Greeneville; and beloved dog: Jenny.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton chapel. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. in Jeffers Afton Chapel with the Rev. Richard Long officiating.

Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 a.m. to proceed to the 10:30 a.m. graveside service at Graceland Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Mason Ellenburg, Christian Haston, Matt Hurley, Bob Laney, Greg Johnson and Jesse Davis.

Honorary pallbearer will be Clyde Peters.
