James Rice Jr., 93, of the Sunnyside community, died at his home Friday.
He retired from General Motors in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was a Purple Heart Recipient and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by two daughters: Jewell Laws and her fiancé, Ed Miller, and Brenda Kohl-Orlando and Joe Orlando; grandchildren: Jimmy Laws, Tyler Laws and Lindsey Seeger; great-grandchild: Mackenzie Laws; one brother and sister-in-law: Jack and Reba Dean Rice; two sisters: Louise Stone and Hilda; several nieces and nephews; and a very special caregiver: Misty Willis.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Angela Rice; and his parents: Jessie and Elizabeth Rice.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton chapel. The funeral will follow at 7 p.m. in Jeffers Afton Chapel with the Rev. Tammy Greene and the Rev. Dean Brewster officiating.
Interment will be Thursday at 10 a.m. with military honors conveyed at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
