Joe Ann Douthat, 86, of the Sinking Springs community in Midway, passed away Friday at her home.
She was a lifelong member of Sinking Springs Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Virginia Ann and Eddie Rose, and Blinda Douthat; grandchildren: Christopher Scott Rose and his wife, Adrienne Crawford Rose, Matthew Stephen Rose and Dillon Reece Hopson; two great-grandchildren: Mourghan Rose and Bailee Rose; a sister and brother-in-law: Imogene and J.P. Douthat; brother and sister-in-law: Hal and Inez Elkins; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Bill Douthat, Dick and Carolyn Douthat, Glenna Parks, and Margie and John Slater; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece: Melinda Pruitt; and special neighbors: Patricia, Joyce and Irene Clowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years: Carl Reece Douthat; and her parents: Raymond Elkins and Josie Elkins Smith.
A celebration of life will be 6 p.m. Friday at Sinking Springs Lutheran Church. Pastor Mike Sauls will officiate.
The family expressed their heartfelt thanks to caregivers Bobbie and Bill Taylor, and Caris Hospice staff members, Janet Varney and Zonya Cureton.
