Lorene Collins, 94, of Greeneville, passed away peacefully July 3 at Life Care Center of Greeneville.

Lorene was born April 12, 1925, in Greeneville to Onnie Myers Collins and Jesse Lee Collins of West Barton Ridge Road.

Lorene was a lifelong resident of Greeneville and loved Jesus, growing flowers, knitting and watching NBA basketball on TV.

While in her later years she lost most of her vision, she never lost her loving spirit for life, a contagious smile and a sharp, witty mind. She will be missed.

Survivors include nieces: Yvonne Shelton, of Gibsonville, North Carolina, and Connie Shelton (Paul) Brown, of Greeneville; and nephews: Arnold (Meredith) Shelton, of Greeneville, and Mike (Paula) Collins, of Atlanta, Georgia.

She was preceded in death in by her beloved parents; a sister: Edith Shelton; and a brother: Roscoe Collins, all of Greeneville.

The family expressed special, heartfelt gratitude to Elmer Tweed, of Greeneville, who cared for her home while she was away and to all her caregivers at Life Care Center.

The family will hold a graveside service and interment at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens Saturday at 10 a.m.
