JONESBOROUGH — Police N. Norton, 91, of Jonesborough, passed away Sunday at Four Oaks Healthcare Center.
Mr. Norton was born in Cocke County and was a son of the late Joe C. and Zelphia Franklin Norton. He was also preceded in death by his first wife: Lillian Hensley Norton; his second wife: Della Buckles Norton; three daughters: Louise, Alice and Betty Marie; one son: Johnny Raye Norton; five brothers; and four sisters.
He was a member of Mountain View Church in Greeneville.
Survivors include his wife: Sarah Bradley Norton, of Jonesborough; children: Joyce Norton and Wanda Norton; stepchildren: Janice Lunceford and Margaret Jones; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Shannon Sell, Jewell Newton, Eva Joyce Tweed, Nancy Waddle and Starlin Perry.
The family expressed a special thank you to the management and associates at Four Oaks Healthcare Center and Johnson City Medical Center Stroke 4200 Wing for taking care of Police.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home. The Rev. David Reece will officiate. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Greeneville.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
