Ralph Taylor Jr., 81, of Greeneville, died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday at his home.

He was an employee of Greene County, working at the Cross Anchor Convenience Center. He worked for Kiker’s Wrecker Service for 30 years.

Mr. Taylor served in the National Guard for a number of years.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Monica and Terry Fillers; one son: Anthony Allen Taylor; and grandchildren: Sabrina Fillers, Alisa Fillers and Chance Taylor, all of Greene County; several nieces and nephews; a special great-nephew: Clinton Taylor; special friends: Linda Kiker, Juanita Taylor and his friends at Kiker’s Tobacco Outlet; and a dear friend he loved as a daughter: Chastity Bright.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Lena Williams Taylor; his parents: Sidney Frances Taylor and Maudie Cornwell Taylor; five brothers: Ray, Jay, Maynard, Johnny and Luther Taylor; two sisters: Charlotte Arrington and Velma Davis; and a special friend: Marcus Kiker.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Jonathan Jones will officiate.

Interment will follow in River Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Briggs Kiker, Jason Bowers, Rodney Kiker, Clinton Taylor and Terry Fillers.
