Robert Russell Adkins, 73, of Limestone, formerly of Springfield, Ohio, passed away Nov. 28 in Johnson City.

Bob was a Marine Corps veteran.

He was a member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church.

Bob retired from Kenosha Auto Transport from truck driving.

He was a HAM radio operator for years, a fishing enthusiast and a fan of poker. He enjoyed cooking for friends and others he cared for. He not only made friends easily, but made friends for a lifetime.

He is survived by his beloved girlfriend: Patricia Million; his daughter and son-in-law: Brandy and Dan Grone; four grandsons: Billy Duncan Jr., and Kaden, Tanner and Connor Grone; a special little great-granddaughter: Iris Elizabeth Sauter; brothers: Roger and Russell Adkins Jr.; a sister: Barbara Jean Adkins; several nieces and nephews; and dear friends Barbara Wright and Phyllis Cox.

He will be missed by family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and friend: Russell Adkins Sr.; and his stepmother: Lois Adkins, both of Springfield; and his mother and stepfather: Adell and Loyd Thornberry.

Per his request, Mr. Adkins’s body will be cremated. There will be no formal services.

Interment will take place at a later date in Douglas Lake.
