Ronald Wayne Brooks, 72, of the Greystone community, passed away early Friday morning at Greeneville Community Hospital East.

He was a retired truck driver from H.T. Hackney after 42 years of service.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years: Betty Brooks; stepdaughter and her husband: Nora and Michael Cooper; two grandchildren: David and Taylor Cooper; one sister and her husband: Darlene and George Marler; two brothers and their wives: Edward and Lois Akins, and Gary and Mary Brooks; a special brother-in-law: James Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Spurgeon and Rinda Brooks; one brother: Bobby Brooks; and one sister: Agnes Tarleton.

The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home Monday from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. in Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Hopson will officiate.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to travel in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for an 11 a.m. committal service.

Pallbearers will be Allen Windwood, Allen Trantham, Carson Wallin, Brad Collins and David Collins.
