Tiffney Casteel Woods, 48, of Greeneville, passed away Wednesday evening at Johnson City Medical Center.

She was a 1989 graduate of South Greene High School, where she was a member of the Lady Rebels Basketball team that won two State Championships and were two-time runners-up. She was also named to the State All-Tournament team.

Tiffney was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a true daddy’s girl, who continued her enjoyment of sports by supporting her children in their athletic activities. She was caring and compassionate, enjoyed making people laugh, and was very competitive.

She was employed by SOPAKCO.

Tiffney was a member of People’s Tabernacle.

Survivors include her children: Rechelle Dye, Devin Dye and Braylee Woods; grandchildren: Camden Kinley and Legend Anderson; her mother: Rezetta Casteel; a brother and sister-in-law: the Rev. Jeff and Tammy Casteel; a nephew: Derrick Casteel; a niece and her husband: Megan and Jamie Copas; a great-nephew: Landri Copas; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend: Brian Wampler.

She was preceded in death by father: Harold “Turk” Casteel; and grandparents: Rev. Elmer and Ruby Casteel and Everette and Mamie Harmon.

The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at People’s Tabernacle with the Rev. Jeff Casteel, the Rev. Kenny Harper, the Rev. David Tweed, and the Rev. Jonathan Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jalen Shuffler, Garrin Shuffler, Preston Shuffler, Alex Arwood, Shaun Lister, Daniel Casteel, Chuck Casteel, Isaac Kinley and Camden Kinley.
