Community Support Honored Soldier In Valor Awards Ceremony
I travel the Ashville highway daily. The highway frontage in front of Ingles is a disgrace not only to the shopping center, but also to the city. It has been unkempt for at least two years.
Kudos to the Town of Greeneville and to Greene County for wanting to recycle older buildings for needed office space: the city for its desire to use the former Capital Bank building and to the county for wanting to use the former CCU headquarters.
My husband, Eugene Harmon, and I worked in the Greene County Fair church food both for 50 years. We began this project the second year of the fair. It was then that L.E. Cox, a member of our Sunday School class, suggested serving groups beans and cornbread under a tent at the Greene County Fair.
A belated thanks to the two lovely ladies who recently came to my rescue as I painfully walked — almost crawling — outside my doctor’s Coolidge Street office. Earth angels indeed!
