I travel the Ashville highway daily. The highway frontage in front of Ingles is a disgrace not only to the shopping center, but also to the city. It has been unkempt for at least two years.

My husband, Eugene Harmon, and I worked in the Greene County Fair church food both for 50 years. We began this project the second year of the fair. It was then that L.E. Cox, a member of our Sunday School class, suggested serving groups beans and cornbread under a tent at the Greene County Fair.
