Boyd Sports, LLC has announced that Kristen Atwell will be the General Manager of the Greeneville Reds, effective immediately.
Atwell’s new role with the Greeneville Reds comes following the inaugural season where she served as the Assistant General Manager of the team. Kristen previously served as a Graduate Assistant Coach with the Tusculum College women’s basketball program; while also serving as a director of women’s basketball operations for one year at Tusculum College. Atwell was also a Stadium Operations intern for the Pulaski Yankees during the 2017 season. She received her B.A. with a degree in Sports Management from Tusculum College, and received her M.A. with a degree in Human Resource and Development from Tusculum College.
“What an amazing opportunity I have been given to fulfill a dream I have had since I was a little girl,” added Atwell. “Working in Minor League Baseball is one blessing but being able to run a franchise is another blessing that is finally putting all of my hard work over the years in the spotlight. I have lived in Greeneville for almost four years now and can honestly say that I genuinely cherish this community and appreciate their support of our team. I want to thank everyone at Boyd Sports for believing in me and entrusting me with this opportunity. I am excited to continue to work with our season ticket holders, corporate partners, and loyal fan base, because without their trust I would not be where I am today. I want to thank everyone who taught and supported me during my start in baseball with the Pulaski Yankees and everyone who taught and supported my coaching career while at Tusculum College. Lastly, I would like to thank my family for their loyalty. I can imagine that traveling to games and answering late night phone calls over time has become exhausting-so thank you for your unconditional support.”
“We’re extremely pleased to announce Kristen’s promotion,” added Boyd Sports Vice President, Jeremy Boler. “She’s been a great asset since joining us. We’re very excited for the direction she will help take us as an organization.”
The Greeneville Reds will kick off the 2019 season at Pioneer Park against the Kingsport Mets on June 18.
